For my Kishrei Halev project I thought about what I could do to help others and make me feel good about what I did. Mrs. Esther Lysaght and my Kishrei Halev project counselor, Norman Brosniak, told me that this year our Temple Beth Miriam was planning to grow a garden to produce various vegetables. That I thought was a great idea. Then I found out that the vegetables that were to be grown would eventually donated to the area Food Bank to help support the local community. Thinking that this was such a great idea, I inquired about the project. I was told that this could be a great bene?t for the community. The only problem that we had to encounter was that we need money to fund this project. I asked myself, how could I help? The answer was easily found. Since my brother Steven has a landscape business call Landscape Solutions SMZ, I thought that if I worked for him not only would I learn
about gardening but I would get paid at the same time. This was great because I then would be able to donate the money to the Temple to allow the project to be funded. The Temple needed many Angels for the project to be successful. I wanted to be one of them. I worked during my school spring break for two days and was able to donate one hundred and twelve dollars to the project. I also helped plant the garden and that really made me feel I was very much involved. Now as you can see the garden is growing quite well.
In conclusion, being able to indirectly help others made me feel good about myself. As the garden matures, my hope is to mature along with it. This has been a great learning experience for me.
