Erika provided beautifully decorated boxes filled with arts and craft supplies for children on the pediatric ward at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.
When she visited the pediatric ward to meet with the child life recreation specialist she saw a need, "I noticed that, at the hospital, when kids are sick and can’t get out of bed, they have nothing to do. The whole time I was thinking - Wow, they must be bored! That‘s really not fair." So she raised money through donations and made 20 boxes filled with art supplies and arts and crafts for the patients. The patients will be able to keep the boxes when they go home. When she delivered her project to the pediatric ward at Jersey Shore Medical Center, she was able to give out several of the arts and craft boxes to patients. There were big smiles from both patients and parents as several children, jumped right in and started drawing and coloring.
